Rastaman on Race

This is pedantic but I think it's necessary to preface with a little ancient history.
The different races of Man came about because of very long periods of geographical isolation of groups of humans. Those in the regions of least intense sunlight and other environmental factors became pale haired and pale skinned. Those in the most intense regions became much darker. Other physical features changed as well, some because of environmental pressure, others because of standards of beauty favoring some features over others.

Societies formed much differently from each other over the thousands of years, along with the attitudes that developed within these societies.

The end result that we have today is a lot of people who not only look differently from each other, they think differently as well and actually have different developments of parts of their brains.

Because of this, the different racial types are each more comfortable among their own kind. Even on a much smaller scale, this is evident, as witnessed by the violent clashes, for example, between the Italians and the Irish when they were placed in close proximity to each other in New York back in the 1900's. Both are Caucasian but there it ends. Their social mores were in dire conflict.

This preference for those we're comfortable with has given rise in the United States to Chinatowns, Harlems, Barrios, Korea-towns and Vietnamese and other enclaves. Many of these are hostile towards one another with no outward apparent cause. The cause is the wide difference in social mores and attitudes.

This brings us to me. My statements of the races I mention here are all generalities. We are all different.

Like all of us, I started out in life seeing all people as just people. My parents never evinced a particular like or dislike of anyone due to race, so I was spared an upbringing in an atmosphere of racial hatred. I have no racial hatred today. What I have is a set of preferences based on the similarities between my social mores and attitudes and those of other ethnic groups combined with my life experiences with members of other racial groups..

I find that most Japanese, even those 3 or 4 generations removed from Japan, take a superior attitude toward non-Japanese. This is a social mind-set that goes back for 1000's of years. They believed that their emperor was a direct descendant of the Sun God, therefor superior to all other people. Jews are friendly, caring people who also hold themselves aloof. If you're Jewish, you're ok but if you're not Jewish, you're suspect. It takes time to become an accepted friend of a Jew. They're short on trust and after a few thousand years of being deceived and slaughtered, I find that reasonable.

Negroes in Africa vary widely in type, appearance, societies, mores and attitudes. Some are much friendlier and trustworty than others. Some tribes, and virtually all Africans are tribal, are violent and prone to evil while others are the exact opposite. There are midgets, Pygmies, and giants, Watusi. Negroes in Africa simply can't be classified as "black people" anymore than white people can in Europe or the States.

In the States, it's different. Most black people are at least an 1/8th, or more, white or some other racial type or mix, and most black people in America can be divided into one of two groups: Those who hate whites but keep it submerged because they know it's self-destructive and racist, and those who hate whites and show it and justify their racism at every opportunity.

Of all the other races and ethnic type in America, only Negroes are constantly spewing hatred. All the others eschew racism at least outwardly and the United States government has made acts arising out of racial hatred a specific crime of itself.

This racist hatred of blacks toward others, but mostly toward whites, is a social phenomenon. The manner in which blacks hold themselves separate from the rest of us is very similar to Jews, as the blacks blame slavery and the Jews blame their oppression. The big difference is that the Jews suffered horribly for many centuries. The Jews were repeatedly enslaved right up into the Nazi regime where they were put into forced labor camps while being starved to death in the process. The blacks did not endure one ten-thousandth of what the Jews did and in fact, the single largest slave owner in American history was a black woman. Blacks commonly sold themselves into slavery as the money would finance family businesses. Further, the slavery could have a time limit under these contracts.

Knowing the actual history of slavery in America, and while I agree that it would be an onus and an embarassment if this were in my own family history, it's not something that people would normally dwell on. It was no fault of the slaves. Far more of an onus is having ancestors who did bad things, and most of us have a few but we don't let some dead relatives acts bring us down in our daily lives.

I'm dwelling on blacks for two reasons. The first is that every single black friend I ever had turned against me, finally, and the reason always given was because I'm not black. The second is that it is only blacks who constantly complain about white racism while constantly practicing it against whites. They preach about the glories of Africa. I've been all over Africa and I wish every black person in America could go there and experience the lack of racism among the people of Africa. It might refresh their viewpoint.

It was white people, and primarily the British, in America and other nations who considered themselves above black people, and they also considered themselves above most other races for the same reason, of having superior technology as well as a superior standard of living. Now that the door is finally open for equality, it is the blacks, or in reality their so-called leaders, who preach separation and hatred instead of taking this opportunity to be part of the whole.

In summary, I don't hang out with black people or have them as friends or even acquaintences, because I tired long ago of the hostility. I don't think blacks in America are lesser-than or somehow lower as humans. I do think they have it all wrong in their attitudes. The rest of us Americans do not owe any special debt to those of us who happen to have some Negro ancestry. They've been milking it for all it's worth and still are and it makes me glad I'm anything except black, as I'd be ashamed of my "brothers" and "sisters" if I were.
